Kilimanjaro Rongai Route 7 Day Climb
A scenic and quieter route that approaches the mountain from the north, near the Kenyan border. It offers diverse landscapes, from forested paths to alpine meadows and barren high-altitude terrain, leading to the summit at Uhuru Peak. Rongai Gate (1,800m/5,900ft) to First Cave Camp (2,600m/8,400ft)
Begin the trek with ourteam a drive to Rongai Gate, located near the Kenya border. After registration, hike through the forest, where you may spot wildlife. Enjoy lunch on the trail before continuing to the First Cave Camp, where you’ll spend the night. This route is quieter and offers a good chance of wildlife sightings like buffalo’s and antelopes

First Cave Camp (2,600m/8,400ft) to Kikelewa Camp (3,600m/11,810ft)
Hike through Kilimanjaro’s moorland, with stunning views of Mawenzi Peak. The Rongai Route’s relatively short but steep segments make for a faster ascent.

This day focuses on acclimatisation. Hike to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, located below Mawenzi Peak, offering breathtaking views of both Mawenzi and Kibo

Acclimatisation at Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Hike higher in the morning, then return to Mawenzi Tarn for the afternoon rest. This will help your body adjust to the altitude

Cross the lunar landscape of the saddle to reach Kibo Camp, situated beneath the Kibo cone, with views of your final destination

Kibo Camp (4,750m/15,580ft) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,340ft) to Horombo Hut (3,720m/12,200ft)
Begin your summit push around midnight. After a challenging ascent, reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After taking photos, descend to Horombo Hut for rest
