The Kilimanjaro Day Trip Adventure through the rainforest will be an amazing experience, offering you a taste of the mountain as you hike to the Mandara Hut. This day excursion is especially advantageous because no specialised climbing equipment is needed. For the Kilimanjaro Day Trip Adventure, all you’ll need is comfortable attire, supportive walking shoes, and a rain jacket in case of precipitation during the ascent.

Itinerary

  • Early in the morning, we’ll arrange our guide to be picked you up from your accommodation and driven to the Marangu Gate (1860m) of Kilimanjaro National Park. The drive takes between one and three hours, depending on whether you’re coming from Moshi or Arusha. After completing the necessary gate registration, you’ll begin your trek through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest, immersing yourself in its beauty and tranquility.
  • As you walk through this lush landscape, you’ll have the opportunity to spot black-and-white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and a variety of vibrant bird species. Your expert mountain guide will share fascinating insights about the mountain, including the diverse plants and animals you’ll encounter along the way. Along the route, you may also meet climbers descending from the summit, offering the perfect chance to hear their stories and spark your own Kilimanjaro adventure dreams.
  • After approximately three hours of hiking, you’ll reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you can take a well-deserved rest and enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, your guide will lead you on a short, 15-minute hike to the Maundi Crater, offering stunning panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Take your time to soak in the breathtaking scenery before returning to the Marangu Gate, a two-hour walk back.
As you descend, you’ll be treated to the serene beauty of the sunset, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Kilimanjaro Day Trip Adventure.
