Itinerary
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Start from Arusha by heading to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. Spend the day exploring the park, known for its large herds of elephants, baobab trees, and diverse bird species. Around noon, lunch will be provided at the picnic area. Enjoy a full-day game drive exploring the park’s wildlife, including lions, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. Dinner and Overnight Marera Valley Lodge
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
Head to Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive in the central or southern Serengeti and embark on an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is famous for the Great Migration, so be on the lookout for wildebeest, zebras, and predators. Lunch will be provided at a picnic area around noon. DAY 3: CENTRAL SERENGETI – NDUTU AREA
Start your day with a sunrise game drive across the Serengeti, witnessing cheetahs and lions hunting as the savannah comes to life. After lunch, head to the Ndutu region, a prime location during the calving season where thousands of wildebeest give birth. In the late afternoon, enjoy a game drive through the Ndutu area, exploring the shores of Lake Ndutu. Known for its large groups of lions and stunning landscapes, Ndutu also boasts the highest concentration of large mammals in the world, along with over 500 bird species. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Heritage Ndutu Camp.
DAY 4: NDUTU AREA FULL DAY
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the Ndutu area, where you’ll see thousands of wildebeests and zebras migrating, along with giraffes, antelopes, elephants, and thrilling predator encounters. Explore Lake Ndutu, home to a variety of bird species, including flamingos. The area’s stunning landscapes and over 500 bird species make it a wildlife haven. After a memorable day, enjoy dinner and overnight at Heritage Ndutu Camp.
DAY 5: NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA
Today, we start early at around 6:00 a.m. for a drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unfilled, intact, and inactive volcano in the world. On this half-day game drive, you’ll have the best opportunity to spot rhinos and explore the crater’s rich wildlife. At the lake, enjoy lunch while observing hippos and the famous flamingos that gather here. Ngorongoro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as “the eighth wonder of the world,” offers incredible landscapes and wildlife. Afterward, around 3:00 p.m., we begin the drive back to Arusha and end your 5-Day Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari.
